Gushtaba


Gushtaba is a famous kashmiri dish. I got this recipe from the cookbook Taste of Kashmir. I have changed the recipe a bit to improve the convenience.

Ingredients:

Kofta (Mix Together)

1 pound qeema
1 tsp fennel powder, 1/2 tsp ginger garlic
3/4 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp zeera powder
seeds of 1 moti elaichi- powdered

gravy:

2 tbsp oil, 1 onion sliced
1 cup yogurt beaten well
1/2 tsp fennel powder, 1/4 tsp ginger powder
1/4 tsp garam masala, 1/2 tsp dried mint
seeds of 1 moti illaichi and 2 green illaichi powdered

Mix all the ingredients under koftas well together. Shape into seekh kabab style shape and deep fry. Heat oil and sliced onion. Fry till golden brown. Add yogurt, fennel, ginger, mint, garam masala and illiachi powder. Keep on low heat. Make a curry paste and then add the koftas. Simmer for 2 minutes. Gushtaba is ready.
