Fish and Chips
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- Canola oil for deep fryer
- 2 pounds fresh cod
- 2 cups of water
- 2 cups flour (plus a little extra for dredging)
- 4 teaspoons vinegar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Salt and pepper and turmeric according to taste
Directions
Mix the vinegar, baking powder, flour, turmeric, salt and
pepper in a bowl. Slowly add the water and beat with a whisk until the batter
is smooth and the proper consistency. Dredge fish in flour then dip into the
batter. Fry at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until golden brown (about 5 minutes).
