Sev and Papri Chaat
5-6 boiled big potatoes
3 cups boiled chickpeas
1 pack sev (available from indian stores or in supermarkets in the international section)
8-10 papri (pre-made or home made- recipe followed)
salt
chat masala
dates chutney
Layer the casserole with sev, then add onions and potatoes, then sprinkle some salt and chat masala over it and then layer with papri(crunch it) and dates chutney. Repeat the procedure until the layers are complete. Mix the layers before serving.
Papri:
1/4 cup maida (self-raising flour)
1/4 cup suji (samolina)
water
a bit of oil
pinch of salt
Mix maida and suji with salt and make the dough with bit of oil and water. The dough has to be hard. Roll the dough and cut the circle shapes with a help of a cookie cutter. Fry it on a high to medium heat after the oil is hot.
